First time I heard this powerful and moving piece of music I almost released a tear or two:

The Beatles' version of the song, Till There Was You, will do it every time. For me and my first husband, that was "our song"; it was sung at our wedding. I've never believed in divorce; but just couldn't look the other way when I caught him playing touchy-feely with our 14-year-old babysitter (and my 3-year-old son was asleep in the next room). Anyway, I felt I had no choice but to dump his ass after that and he beat me up. Till There Was You brings me to tears because I loved him and wasted my love and my youth (18-30) on a flaming bastard.

Here's Sir Paul, performing the song solo:

This also makes me very misty, with its echoes of Elizabethan consort music and sad poetry by Shakespeare. What else can you expect from a great Goth Metal band called 'My Dying Bride'?: 'Don't Worry, Be Happy'?:

Even when I could sing, I couldn't sing this song, without crying ...

And LOOK at how she smiles, and it's something so glad, too!!!

LOL, Ghost; thank you.....it was a long time ago, 1983. Yes, he came to the end that he deserved. I'll condense the rest of the story down. I prayed for 20 years after we divorced for lightning to hit that bastard in the head. And by God, my prayers were answered....he had a devastating stroke. You have to be very succinct when you talk to God, though. I should have added, "and kill him, please." But....God knows best. The ex is now a functional idiot. He can bathe and dress and feed himself, but that's about it. He can't remember much, and is always calling me to ask why I divorced him and what our son's name is and where he lives. Karma, I say.

"I can't make you love me" by Linda Rhonstadt makes me sad…..Reminds me of a one way love affair I had when I was young.

darn girl..i'm sorry to hear about that. But you're right....sometimes we pray to God for something and he gives it to us in a way that we did not quite expect.

In a different way, I nearly cry when I hear a remake of a classic song... and the remake sucks bigtime.
